The exhibition of LEGEND OF ASIA® SPORT SHOES, presented by the Vietnamese-Australian art collective, VŨTRỤ Inc., will be showcased from the 5th to 17th of April at 4A LAB. 

During these two weeks, VŨTRỤ Inc. will transform the 4A LAB into a hybrid temple-sneaker concept store for the ASIA® SPORT SHOES. A tongue-in-cheek exploration of divinity and consumer culture, VŨTRỤ Inc. and friends reimagine and abstract a mythological timeline surrounding these ‘legendary’ Vietnamese shoes. LEGEND OF ASIA® SPORT SHOES is an exploration and navigation of satirical practice from emerging Vietnamese artists reconciling with the intersection of hype culture and contemporary art, revealing the sacred within a pair of shoes.

Supported by the City of Sydney Innovations and Ideas grant; LEGEND OF ASIA® SPORT SHOES by VŨTRỤ Inc. is the first exhibition in 4A’s new early-career artist program. A site-specific activation of the 4A LAB, which prioritises research and artworks that are grounded in experimentation, technology, and change.
