4A Talks presents two in-depth discussions on the state of contemporary art and creative practice in Vietnam and Mongolia, underrepresented locations on the global stage.

Ho Chi Minh City-based Independent curator, writer and researcher Linh Lê’s program ‘The Working Class in an Industrialised, Modernised, Urbanised World: Contemporary Vietnamese Art Today,’ features a video art screening series and presentation examining the portrayal of the Vietnamese working class in contemporary art practices of recent years, whose stories are no longer dominated by central, collective voices.

Following this is Tian Zhang, an independent curator, writer, facilitator and collective worker leading ‘Nomadic Journeys: The Ulaanbaatar Biennale, art and exchange.’ In her role as Ulaanbaatar Biennale Chief Curator, Zhang will lead a discussion with Executive Director of Arts Council of Mongolia, Odgerel Odonchimed, Mongolian curator and artist Ariuntuya Jambaldorj, and Ulaanbaatar Biennale participating artist Jazz Money. They will offer insights into the emerging Mongolian arts community, the development of the Ulaanbaatar Biennale On the horizon, under the moon (2025), and reflections on art and cultural exchange between Mongolia and so-called Australia.
