She/her

Lia Tabrah is an artist and curator based in Naarm (Melbourne) and Far North Queensland, focusing on design, sculpture, and installation. She founded her art and design house in 2008 and has exhibited extensively throughout Australia.
Her work often blurs the lines between the natural and artificial, drawing from pop culture, tourism iconography, Australian folklore, and environmental themes. Lia has collaborated with prominent cultural institutions such as the National Gallery of Victoria, the Museum of Old and New Art, Bendigo Art Gallery, Craft Victoria, Melbourne Fashion Festival, Melbourne Fashion Week, and Melbourne Design Week.
Her work has received attention from major media outlets, including The Guardian, ABC television, Artichoke magazine, and international publications like 1883 magazine (UK), Z!nk magazine (NY), and Plaza Kvinna (Sweden).
In 2019, Lia collaborated with Kirsha Kaechele from MONA on the "Eat the Problem" exhibition, which transformed invasive species into art and haute cuisine. Dedicated to social change and sustainability, she co-founded VERMIN with Perina Drummond to create ethical leather from invasive cane toads, blending creativity with ecological responsibility.
