Leo Tsao (he/him) is a Taiwanese Australian artist based on Wangal Land working predominantly with film and movement. Through a practice as research methodology, his work is experimental and open-ended. He often brings together disparate and unlikely disciplines and collaborators through formal explorations to rupture expectations, heteronormativity and whiteness to create new modes of perception and possibilities. 

In his choreographic practise, Leo is interested in incorporating movement practises outside of dance, such as skateboarding, martial artist and sports with somatic considerations. In the past his art practice has often crossed over with his community organising and advocacy work through experimental workshops and events. 

He is now exploring beyond the western confines of identity based art in search of magic, pleasure and mystery in his art making, but still with a punk attitude.
