Haneen Mahmood Martin is a Malay-Saudi writer, artist and producer born in Kuala Lumpur, living in Garamilla/Darwin. Haneen creates and seeks art that highlights the everyday rituals that make life meaningful, the precarity of memory as a means of holding knowledge, and the connection and understanding that sharing food can bring – creating a space for our ordinary stories in the archives. Haneen has a tactile and processed-focused approach to art making, which helps her unravel the stories that have been sitting at her fingertips. Haneen’s art and practice has been featured by LIMINAL, Broadsheet, Make Nice, The Adelaide Review, and many more. She was a recipient of The Ghan’s 90^th birthday residency (NT/SA), and the Nexus Arts residency (SA). She is currently working on her first book.
