Marine Ky
Marine Ky is an internationally recognised visual artist.
Nourished by her cultural heritage and her Cambodian origins, but also by the fractures of exile, she works to transpose Buddhist spiritual themes, oriental aesthetics, and ancestral Asian techniques to create her engravings and prints on paper and silk, but also installations/sculptures.
Her projects integrate a dimension of memory, transmission, and sharing, to which she associates participatory and educational workshops. She has worked on engraving in such prestigious workshops as the Australian Print Workshop in Melbourne, Atelier Frélaut & Lacourière in Paris, and during residencies in Chiang Mai, Thailand, Aomori and Fukuoka in Japan, Cork in Ireland, and Shenzhen in China.
She held her first individual exhibitions in 1997 in Australia and then exhibited regularly with the support of “Australian Galleries” in Melbourne and Sydney, then in Phnom Penh.
