Dr Lauren Carroll Harris is a writer, researcher and artist. She holds a PhD from the University of New South Wales on film distribution, and is the author of Not at a Cinema Near You: Australia’s Film Distribution Problem (Platform Papers, 2013). She writes the Stream Lover column at Guardian Australia and an ongoing series on Australian cinema for Kill Your Darlings. Her scholarly research has been published in International Journal of Cultural Policy, Studies of Australasian Cinema and Metro, and she contributes film and cultural criticism to ABC RN’s The Final Cut, ABC Local Radio’s Drive program, The Mix on ABC24 and The Monthly’s website among many others. She is the former Acting Assistant Editor of RealTime.
